We decided to blog with blogger as opposed to other blog hosting services because of its simple and concise layout. It comes with many ready to use templates that are very aesthetically pleasing. It is also very popular and therefore reaches a wider audience. Finally, blogger appears to be the most professional and business-oriented of all the blog hosts that we considered.
The other two blogs that we looked at were LiveJournal and Tumblr. We found that LiveJournal was used primarily by its bloggers as a more casual online diary, and the businesses that were using it were less professional, i.e. people promoting their personal art or writing, for example, than what we aimed to be. While we liked its clean templates, that just wasn't enough. Tumblr was also a more casual blog, in addition to having a slightly disorganized layout. For our purposes, Tumblr just didn't cut the mustard.
